Our Mission

3Z Realty is a locally owned company dedicated to finding a cure for narcolepsy by raising funds and awareness through every real estate transaction. Our clients take pride in knowing that they are contributing to a greater cause while getting the service they deserve.

After Graduating From Texas State University and acquiring his real estate license, Robby Roden met Katy Scruton, who initially entered his business looking for a home to buy. Cleverly, Robby sold her a home in his neighborhood and hired her as his assistant. Soon after, they fell in love with each other, and of course with real estate.

Katy was diagnosed with narcolepsy while in college and had a desire to find a cure for the disorder while proving to the world that it would never slow her down. In 2011, Robby and Katy decided to start a real estate company named 3Z Realty (the three Zs represent sleep), to raise funds and awareness for narcolepsy. They have been featured in Texas REALTOR® Magazine, won a National Public Awareness Award in 2012, and premiered on MTV's "True Life" I Have Narcolepsy.


They enjoy kayaking and fishing on Canyon Lake and the San Marcos, Blanco, Guadalupe, and Comal Rivers, Hill Country Adventures, gardening, and anything outdoors. On Sundays, you can find them loading up the truck and exploring places they didn't know existed, right in their own backyard. They're also always on the hunt for bizarre and interesting restaurants, shops, neighborhoods, taverns, and places off the beaten path while staying close to San Marcos.

Robby and Katy absolutely love sharing their passion for kayaking with everyone. In fact, they learn quite a bit about their clients by taking them kayaking or some other fun adventure, which in turn helps them better assist people with their real estate needs. The majority of the Rodens' clients have truly become life-long friends.
